Filer & Recipients Information

PREVIOUS14

What is a filer or a recipient?

A filer is the Company or person filing the W2 or 1099.  A recipient is the employee or person receiving the 1099.

How can I set up multiple filers with the same EIN ?

Before setting up 2 or more filers consider using the 'Dept Feature' of the software to allow for different phone numbers to appear on the forms you send out. If you still have the need to set up multiple filers using the same EIN, utilize our location/ Establishment number field. The Establishment number field does not appear on any forms but will appear on screen and in reports. You can also use our "Help" and get instructions on-line.

Where are recipients? MASTER RECIPIENT LIST UPON ROLL OVER

All my files rolled over, at least I can see the filers, but how do I get the recipients into the company, they are in a big list.

The new program uses a Master Filer list for Companies and a Master Recipients list for Employees & Recipients.

To pull your employees or recipients into the current company you will do the following:

Select the CREATE/PRINT FORMS tab on the left side of your screen, and then   select Enter Edit Tax Forms. Then select the ADD box at the bottom right of the screen, place your cursor in Box D (if you are using the W2, if using a 1099 the cursor is already in the corret box), hit F2 or right click.  The Master List comes up and you can select and highlight the person you need (at the top of the box you can also choose if you want to sort by EIN # or Last Name by clicking on the tabs)  Click the select button and then information will be brought forward into program.  You can then proceed to fill in the wages and taxes.  If you need help you can access our HELP SCREENS at any time by selecting the F1 key.
